Wait For The Lord

"I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings." Psalm 40:1-2

Backstory: The chapter 40 psalmist experienced horrible disturbances while living in this wicked world. They called upon the Lord and waited for Him to respond. When the Lord acted, the psalmist was rescued from their troubles and placed on solid grounds. God set them on a course for a better future!

Response: What is your initial reaction to trouble? Who is your go-to 'hero'? As children of God and followers of Jesus Christ, we must remember that we serve a loving, all-powerful, sovereign God. There is no beast in hell that can victor over God. God is the ultimate hero! So, when you are in the midst of chaos, call on God. It is common to think that we have the solution to all of our own troubles. Sometimes God supplies our neighbor with the umbrella to shield us from the rain. Not everything will be as simple as we would like, but we have to trust that God has a plan to see us through.

We pray that you learn how to call on the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Cry out to God for your troubles, not mankind. God is the only one who can truly set you free and establish you on a good path.

In Jesus mighty name,

Hallelujah, Amen!
