Light of the World

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill [that] cannot be hidden." Matthew 5:14 NIV

Backstory: Matthew chapter five is comprised of lessons that Jesus taught on a mountainside to His followers. He starts out talking about the kind of people who are blessed and heaven-bound. At verse fourteen, Jesus calls His followers 'the light of the world' and encourages them to be intentional on letting their light shine which glorifies the Father in heaven.

Response: If a stranger were shown a clip that summarizes your life, would they identify you as a child of God and follower of Jesus Christ? An even greater question is, how does God view you? Remember that God knows your heart, your true intentions. We can form a false identity to appease people, but God is omniscient. We cannot fool God! Set your mind on the kingdom of God and righteousness. Be an undeniable light to others so that God may be glorified. Even in the company of evildoers, employ the principles of Christ. It is better to do the will of God and lose friends than to gain friends and forsake God.

We pray that you are encouraged to stay bold in your faith and confident in the plans of God. Be a light to the world that cannot be moved or hidden. Let others inquire about God and His son, Jesus Christ based on your testimony. Stay in communication with God and allow Him to guide you every single day.

In Jesus might name,

Hallelujah, Amen!
