Scornful x. Wise - Proverbs 29:8

"Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath." Proverbs 29:8 KJV

A scorner is defined as a person having contempt or disdain for something or someone. They are known to be disagreeable and unpleasant; they mock others and are prideful. A scorner is identifiable by their rude words and facial expressions. Psalms 1:1 tells us that the scornful are not blessed. Today's scripture says that their ways bring negativity into an environment.

A wise person is characterized by their experience, knowledge, and good judgment. This individual is blessed and turns away wrath. They do not entertain the ways of the sinner and seek refuge in God in times of trouble. A wise person is identifiable by their humble ways.

What type of person are you? Scornful or wise? How would a stranger characterize you based on a first impression? If you lack wisdom, ask God as instructed in James 1:5. God will give you wisdom and a desire to make wise decisions.
