The Christian Name
"Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf." 1 Peter 4:16 KJV
Backstory: In 1 Peter 4 there are two main topics: living for God and suffering as a Christian. To live for God means to obey the Word of God; the holy bible is our blueprint for life on Earth crafted by God. The greatest expectation that God has for His children is that we accept His son Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. When we identify as a Christian or follower of Christ we are likely to suffer backlash as Christ did. Today's scripture reminds us that it is not in vain when we suffer due to our Christian identity, in fact, we bring God glory when we stand firm on the truth.
Response: We, the body of Christ should never be ashamed of our identity in Christ. No matter the suffering that is brought upon us on Earth, we must remember that God has a purpose for all things. There is life beyond the occupation of these mortal vessels for those who obey the commands of God. All mental and physical anguish will one day no longer exist. So let us stay planted on the solid ground.
We pray that you take heed to the Word of God. Do not forecast troubles of today onto tomorrow. We may suffer from identifying as a Christian on Earth today, but it is all worth the day that we are granted eternal life with the Father in heaven. We hope that today's scripture inspires you to have an unmovable faith and a great love for God who keeps us all.
In Jesus mighty name,
Hallelujah, Amen!
